This is concept art for my 'HV-3345 Railgun Type III'
This is an 'mini-gun' like device used as ballistic weaponry aboard fighters and light turrets and is used to "penetrate" armored targets and to hit fast moving targets.
Rate of Fire: 2,000-10,000 - Ion/Shredder Rounds Per Minute (Rate of fire increases the longer the trigger is pulled, but it eats through power and heats up quickly.)

I'm open to suggestions that would make it seem more believable. My friend discussed with me, that the longer the trigger is pulled, the faster it fires, but it consumes a ton of energy and is used in bursts, so it has the potential to be fire that quickly, but it can't be sustained long.
So I'll change the language on that to help it make more sense to you or anyone who seems to believe this is impossible, but this is a civilization that can bridge the gap of galaxies, so I don't see why this seems shocking heh.
I mean no disrespect, does this seem overpowered to you? If so could you maybe toss some ways to make this seem more balanced?

I'm not saying it over powered or anything. like you have stated they are a civilization that is far advanced as well a large military power right?
I'm sorry if my comment sounded like I was saying it was overpowered, It was more shock and ah that your the first, that i had seen, to make that step in the sci-fi to make a turret mini-railgun! :D
and over heating is going to happen, if that wasn't there that where I would of got a chuckle n moved on.
