Unfotunately, this was not always so. I remember when Optimus Prime was made out of die cast metal and was built like a tank for abuse. It was only later that they switched to plastic and I believe the truth of it is that they know kids play rough with toys. They know they will break and expect the parents to buy a new one. Pretty shady but that tactic isn't just applied to toys. Look at how many cracked Iphones and Androids there are. They expect you to buy a new one. Miss the days of quality and the Tonka tough standard.
Yeah. They sometimes make collectors editions that are die cast for classic stuff but expect them to mark up the price to hundreds and hundreds of dollars. At that point its no longer a toy and something only to admire on the mantle. Ironically, this defeats the purpose of buying it for being metal in the first place. I don't think I've seen die cast on the market since um.... Maybe late 90s. The other thing that annoyed me is the new safety regs. My toys could shoot a plastic missile across the entire living room. Now kids get what... a foot if they are lucky. Even as a kid I was smart enough not to put a toys launcher up to my eyeball and press the trigger. Lawsuits are to blame for the toy nerf. Metal does make toys feel more rugged but thats likely because they are. Maybe they should make kids toys out of Kevlar
This reminds me of my twitching problem, whenever someone tries to throw an insult to me or gives a negative opinion, I twitch badly, which might be the cause of me making a few clarical mistakes, just as accidentally twitching my arm to hand someone something breakable, it went all the way off a table, well that was awkward
That happen to me too lol. Back when I was about 10 my best friend Mathew was my carer since mom was always too busy with work (he was an adult (yes my best friend back then was an adult lol)) and my parents had already devorsed when I was maybe like from 6-8 (I hated my father anyway) and I died in a game on his PSP and I slid it over to him across the table so he could have his turn but I accidentally put too much force into it and knocked over his cup of coffee and it spilled all over it you wouldn't believe how much I hated myself that entire afternoon. You wouldn't believe how surprised I was when he didn't get insanely mad with me. He got pretty mad and well you know but I could tell that he was holding back a hell of a lot of it and I will never forget him for forgiving me like that
No, she actually first drew Animated Grimlock (seen in Lure's hands when Star walked in). In the last comic and in most of this comic except for the closeup where the leg breaks, it's the original G1 toy. Yes, it was bigger in the last comic, but the arms were right up against the body and the shoulders were basically level with the top of the robot mode chest. The size was just cheated to show detail.
Also: G1 Grimlock hasn't had any reissues; his molds are lost along with those for the rest of the Dinobots. And for the Aerialbots, Protectobots, and Mirage. He can be found in plenty anyway because of how well his toy sold back in the 80s, but he can get pricy. Even just parts can be pricy.
On the other hand, that is one of the joints where it's very unlikely a G1 Grimlock (which seems to be the intended figure) would break easily. Or a modern Grimlock (it'd either be too solid or else a pop-off joint).

You've killed SLAG before!? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH~~
Also I noticed you used 2 different Grimlock toys from before.
You used the classic Generation 1 Dinosaur mode and then you also used the Fall of Cybertron Dinosaur mode~
Good thing I'm quite familiar with taking these guys apart, so it IS actually possible to fix them I believe~ As long as the damage isn't too extensive~

Reminds me of when I was younger, my friend had star wars action figures... Me and him were obsessed with them, and I thought one of his had removable arms, and i broke one off... Lets just say there was a lot of crying until dad came in and fixed it with the super glue. :3
I almost thought about not commenting giving this mass wall of fandom comments...... But I shall anyway :3
What kind of machinery does she work with that leads her to roughing up a plastic toy? Also, this is what you get with cheap material. Maybe she could manufacture him a new one. I have a feeling a spanking scene is to follow, but hopefully not, unless she does something on purpose.

Oh shit, poor Lure looks like he's about to faint or something. x_x I mean that's the one from the original 1980s toy line... Those aren't exactly cheap... http://www.ebay.com/itm/MASTERPIECE.....item19ef3a42b2
On the plus side, Star + Pigtails = Adorable.

Boy can I relate to THIS one. Thanks to me, transformers have four forms, not two: vehicle, robot, car crash, and modern art. My friend Joey won't let me touch his, after I did this to his Corvette robot.
And then a couple months ago, my fiancé let me play with his Optimus Prime. "These toys are indestructible!" He said. "Don't worry, you won't break it!" He said.
He quit saying stuff after I handed it back, mangled and in 5 pieces.

I neber had a G1 dinobot back in the day (loved them from afar on the show) - I had a g1 soundwave that I remeber and the city transformer - that was really cool, but if some new strange kid broke it, yeah that would be da end! One christmas got Metroplex I fink (or trypticon) after much begging and pleading but took it back after all the joints were so shoddy couldn't really put it togather and decided if it was just one joint I'd just want it replaced but wif all of them having issues it was prolly cheaply designed and were probably all like that. Don't remeber what I got instead.
The Dinobots are a group of Transformers, part of the Autobot faction.[3] Their origins and abilities vary from one version of Transformers to the next, but they are generally depicted as powerful Autobots capable of sustaining heavy damage and wielding heavy firepower against their foes. They are the only known Autobot group capable of flight in robot mode, a trait they share with the Decepticons. They are always portrayed as fiercely independent, and are prone to diverge from the main group of Autobots to pursue their own agenda.

Okay Hasbro toys are extremely cheaply made YES but they don't break THAT easily and the only transformation a G1 Grimlock figure has within its dino-legs/robot-arms are to flip the claws for Dino mode back and flip out the hands and then you just have to move them out of the way. Have a look https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=a_ZLhbcUpKA 12:00 - 12:40 and this is a third party masterpiece figure. And while the term third party may make it sound like it's bad quality it's actually the exact opposite. These companies are run by fans who want better toy representations of characters and as such make figures of higher quality even of higher quality than figures of the official masterpiece line more often than not and I'm pretty sure that's not an official Hasbro release she's holding there : /
