Kuroi's Backstory.
On a gentle, early spring morning it appeared that a woman with pure white hair was highly pregnant once again. She had found out just a few years ago that she had the extraordinary body. One that could reproduce, and mix with any other species. Giving off half breed children. She had found out some years ago, after a somewhat brutal encounter with a black panther who gave her their first offspring.
Young twin neko’s, one pure who appeared to be male, but had a female gender with white hair and furr. And one pure black, seeming much stronger and far fiercer, even at birth. It had however been the case that they were forced to leave their mother, against the mother’s will by the wealthy and powerful family who did not want anyone to know of this ‘’shameful’’ act.
Never having seen the children again after that she was heartbroken but seemed to try and find the panther once again. She had run away from her parental castle, and after only a few day’s indeed she had found the large, Black Panther. Seeming now far more careful however as to their first encounter the woman and panther slowly got closer. Seeming they had found a somewhat strange connection as the panther knew, without a word of their offspring together. She decided to try and keep the panther around her, as a pet and even lover at that, though had not come home.
She had found a small place to live, hidden away from the royal family she belonged to and was destined to be queen of. About another year had passed, and yet another birth of Halfling offspring was now laying in the woman’s arms. A small, young creature with pure black furr and hair, gentle like his smallest older brother before him and with the same gender complexion. A small, gentle boy’s appearance, though with the female gender. Once the small creature had opened his eyes they named him ‘Kuroi’.
Just like his brother’s, to the color he represented. But unlike Kuro, Kuroi had bright green eyes, with a golden circle around his pupils. Unfortunately however, only a mere few month’s had passed since then when the woman’s family had found her and her mate and pet Panther. With numerous guards they took the panther away from the woman as well as the young half breed creature. The panther having been sold to a zoo in a country far away, while the child was send off to an adoption home, in another neighboring country. Having given no way to trace back its parents.
Kuroi would have to live alone, most likely forever from that point on as he was slowly raised by the orphanage. Years passed by of torture for the rather small creature called Kuroi, only his name, given to him by his parents was all that remained. The only thing that kept him going at times it seemed, was the thought of meeting, and finding his parents. Years of torment went along in the orphanage as the other kid’s where always picked out, and left Kuroi behind for obvious reasons. All those who came in adopting children where far too afraid of the young creature’s nickname. ‘Black cat’ the name seemed to reflect peoples superstitious believes of bad luck and what not, rather than to see a person for who they are.
Kuroi at the age of ten years old heard rumors of another black neko such as himself being imprisoned elsewhere, in a small town not far from where he was. Little did he know his two older, brothers where the cause of such rumors. Though only the mere rumors of more creature’s like himself gave Kuroi the confidence to escape from the orphanage at the mere age of ten. He climbed up on the drapes at night all the way to the highest window, always left open for fresh air too small for most to even come in our out with.
Especially no full-grown man could fit through, but Kuroi, the small being just about three and a halve feet tall barely managed to fit through. Kuroi always had the scraps at the orphanage for food, always last in line to eat the remainders of others. Even his clothes were the old giveaways of the other’s in the orphanage. From that point on Kuroi had to fend for himself, which in most of the time he already did over the last years. Kuroi had slowly made his way after that to the town where the rumors had spread from, seeing as indeed there used to live two young neko’s, though a few years older than Kuroi. He even found the old, abandoned house that they had rumored to live in according to the town’s people, who certainly did not seem happy to see yet another neko in their midst.
Kuroi took refuge in the abandoned house where the two neko’s lived, and after some searching around the house a few weeks later, he found out that they very wel could be related. Having found out their names and from descriptions of villager’s and travelers he made out sketches even. Though after about a year of lingering around, and finding out what had happened to the two neko’s, Kuroi decided to travel the world, in search for more like himself, and possibly family, if any of him existed.
Though at each and every single village, city or small settlement he came, that almost everyone seemed afraid of the small child like creature called Kuroi. Seeming to fear the bad luck a ‘’black cat’’ could cause them. It took Kuroi about a year to find better ways of presenting him in the sight of villager’s and other humans. Having taken a hold of a hooded cloak in which he was able to conceal his feline features. The hood covering the large, feline ears and the cloak hiding away his extraordinary long feline tail. For any other feline he had seen, met or even touched in his life, it appeared that his tail was at least, twice the size of what it most likely should have been. Weather it was something that went wrong with his genetics, or simply was the way it is because he was a half breed mixture he did not know.
But as most seemed to hate him even for being the way he was, Kuro loved his long, fluffy tail. Years passed by, and every now and then he had heard stories of other neko like creatures such as himself. One to cause havoc, and another to cause peace, and good things to happen though always being chased away by those who wanted to take advantage of them. Never however he heard stories of the two together anymore. At the age of sixteen Kuroi would be almost five feet tall, and with his tail being over six feet long it became harder to conceal it within the cloak at times.
His small, skinny body clearly seemed to indicate that Kuroi had not been given the best chances to survive with a lack of proper food to eat. Surely he would have had plenty of times to take what was not his to better survive but that clearly was not something he ever even though of. Most of the times Kuroi was also covered in bits of dirt and dried up mud unless he had recently found a river or pond to bathe in. His raged, old attire seemed just barely to hold together as he walked through the wilderness at times. Even the large beasts, easily able to jump the small creature to feast would let him pass by at the sight of his skinny body, seeming anything of that size was not worth killing for the meager bit of flesh he had.
