Can anyone guess what song I was listening to when this idea popped into my mind?
Anyway, here is another of the constantly expanding number of characters that popped into my mind (and that definitely need more attention from me).
This is Katrina Bastet Kittson, an Egyptian Mau (of, yes, Egyptian descent). She had been voted "most popular" in high school and was prom queen at both Junior and Senior Proms. Strangely enough, all of this popularity didn't leave her full of conceit and disdain for those under her on the social ladder, and so she was friends with just about everyone by graduation day, 2008. Not only that, but she had managed to keep her grades well up throughout her entire time in school up through her graduation.
In college, she majored in history, specializing in ancient Egyptian history. As a pet project, she had decided to try to trace her family tree back to when the ancient Egyptian civilization was at its peak, and she actually found out that her very distant ancestors were some of the pharaohs and queens of the Middle Kingdom period of Egyptian history.
Now, at age 24, Kat works as a guide in the Egyptian wing of the (relatively) local history museum, as she is very knowledgeable on nigh on to every aspect of the culture, and (seeing as she is technically descended from ancient royalty) she really brings the history to life for the visitors.
At least once a year, she actually goes to visit the Pyramids and other sites around Egypt. She says that it's "sort of like a family reunion, in a way".
I don't know what anybody else would think, but I may have at least a slight overabundance of negative (background) space, and I'm not sure if the color layering that I did actually has the right color for sand, but here I am , mentally beating myself up again over what I perceive as errors (and what I perceive as a weak background). At least I did some research on the clothing of ancient Egypt, so that will have to do...
