You asked for more detail and by gum I grant said request! more detail. I'm only mildly upset that Mosh is now permanently pink because I don't know how to get the colors right... It's always something with you isn't it you blasted dragon! At least I can make him sound more manly by saying his Pink Rathian Pink!
So the title of this piece is About Doing. Yoda once said: "there is no try, there is only DO" and by golly do I love that saying. Actually I love as much as another saying: "Less talk, more ROCK!" which is the title of an article written by the guys that did sword and sworcery. Cool gents and you should totally get in touch that: http://boingboing.net/features/morerock.html
Why do I bring this up? Because I've seen time and time again that artist are struggling to DO, to make, to create, to spring into action and take that which is their birthright at creative folk. I romanticize a bit too much. Their chief complaint it: "Gee, I wish I could motivate myself and get some art done... but I really don't feel like it..." Or "Damn it ART BLOCK!"
I hate to sound like a jerk but "just do" is what I have to say in response those those complaints. Don't feel like drawing? Pull out that pencil cause you should scrawl out something. Literally anything! It's called warming up- sometimes you need it. You don't have anything to draw? doodle like you're in the middle of the most boring lecture you've ever heard.
Alternatively, just do it so you can find out where you suck. I found out that I need to fix how I draw hips and the trunk of the body. I wouldn't have known if I hadn't invested the time to pump this bad boy out. So just do it to spot the flaws. If you know it's there, you can fix it. Wouldn't it be swell if you could have this awesome perfect style. You ain't getting it by not drawing!
I should have entitled this About YOLO to be relevant.
