I don't know if it's still in print but the Cartoon Animation book by Preston Blair is a great way to learn the basics of animation drawing, ie: using basic circles, cylinders and ovals to shape and define characters. There are also a shitload of recently published Anime and Animation books directly related to various fantasy-anthropomorphic types at most Borders and Barns and Noble bookstores. Go over to the art section and look for the art-technique books and you should still be able to find many of the ones that have come out in the last two years.
