Well, here’s the man that became the root of all artistic evil that caused many hair pulling and tear filled nights. This dude came so close to becoming bald it isn’t funny. However I absolutely loved working with the detail and color tones in this piece. I know it still needs a lot of work and there are flaws everywhere but please keep in mind he is my first. Err… realistic sort of digital painting that is. >>
Anyway I hope everyone that takes the time to look at this can see the different things I’ve done to the lines of the original. In no way was this photo manipulated or copied in anyway shape or form, the whole painting was colored directly over the lines and rendered over and over again on one layer.
Yes I’m crazy and drove myself nuts doing this all on one layer but it was well worth it in the end. Hopefully in the future I can work on similar pieces and come up with a less stressful and time consuming way to crank out this sort of work. I hope to create a tutorial of how I paint this way but I’d like to be comfortable in my own skin before doing so. So please ask later when I have less work to do on other things.
