This is the other side of the canyon as observed from the same location the colors in the canyon come from reactions of different igneous or volcanic minerals with the acidic run off from the limestone formations above when water reacts with the calcium carbonates and forms a weak acid it runs down and has a different effect on the different minerals creating the colors
