Hehehehe, so I conformed with playing D&D since I got a co-worker at my job who talks about it so passionately. XD
So this is Aramil, an Elf Druid who follows a set of rules he himself established a long time ago after leaving his grove. Well, perhaps leaving is a light way of putting it. He's an elf druid...with a twist.
As a child, he was afflicted by a werewolf, and now is doomed to become one whenever he sees a full moon. He was chased out by his kindred, and took refuge with a human cleric. They nursed him to health, encrypted a rune on his body as a sign of protection, and now he's out on his own, trying to survive the elements of the world.
He follows a set of laws for himself which were based on rules set by his clan, his deity, Elohnna(Goddess of the Woodlands, I believe), and his own resolutions and moralities. He is a bit embittered to other elves, but as he was raised by humans for a time, he has developed a better tolerance to the other races.
However, when it comes to his other half, he calmly but absolutely refuses to accept being a werewolf. He will never take credit for whatever the werewolf does.
Example:
Party Member: "Dude, you just wiped out all those goblins!"
Aramil: "...No, I didn't. Some huge animal did that."
Party Member: "But that was you!"
Aramil: "No, it wasn't."
XD Kind of a funny quirk eh? :P
Anyway C&C Well appreciated!

he will have to come to terms with his other half someday :P...
but according to 3.5 mechanics every time he shifts he has to make a will save equal to something like 10 plus the number of times he has previously shifted. If he fails his alignment changes to chaotic evil if he is a werewolf. It doesn't matter if hes aware of his affliction or not.
For the sake of plot development you have probably already persuaded the DM to disregard that rule

It appears that you are correct. I consulted the rulebook :P so as long as he remains unaware of what he is, he is not subjected under the DC 15 + number in animal form to resist permanently getting chaotic evil as an alignment. Given that this is a unique case you probably consulted with the DM about, that is the best way to go for you :P
for specifics look on page 178 of the monster manual.(if your using 3.5 edition. If your using 4.0 there aren't any concrete rules on that yet.
