Heehe. I used to be arachnophobic, and I can still be a bit iffy with certain spiders (there was a spider accidentally transported from another region that was absolutely huge that terrified me when I worked in the garden center ... it built a huge gigantic web and had to be the size of a volleyball. )

At any rate, I LOVE these types of spiders as long as they don't jump on me. Hella cute ... I love watching hairy spiders bathe themselve. Hilariously cute.

I find that people do tend to be more universally accepting of jumping spiders than anything else. It's got to be those eyes. :)

We have something similar in Sweden. Smaller than a pea, and skittish as heck.

Still, they're harmless little things, and are more than happy to stay away from you.

Most spiders I find are quite skittish. They're quite aware that they are tiny and you are big. :)

Sure, but then Big Brother Brown Recluse comes along and balances the scales. I've seen quite a few moves about the injuries those little things can cause, and man am I glad they are not indigenous to my country.

The brown recluse isn't a very aggressive spider either. And its reputation is far greater than its actual danger.

Lots of misinformation and misdiagnosis associated with those guys.
