depends on what its from.

If it was a sword fight scar I'd suggest it starting around his hip, an going upwards towards where his pecs meet.

if its a knife scar something more on the upper or lower arm.

I don't think he'd get in a gun fight, but those typically are shoulder, or lower right abdomen sorta scars.

other than that...hmmm...stab wounds can go just about anywhere if they were shallow enough.
