mBlade did most of the work on the top grill while I was busy building collars for AC.

The top hinges open to add logs, the metal mesh is needed to be up to code in Edmonton.

Still a handcrafted fire pit is for most outdoor people, is a MUST!!
VERY very impressive work, I like the minimalistic design of the hinge system; although I think the placement the the handle for the door could be relocated to the outer guard rail as a seamless design as well as higher usability and lower chance of physical harm (i.e. burning hands from excessive heat exposure). Personally I'd use a coiled handle along the handle integrated guard rail to allow bare hands to lift the door without using padded gloves or a stick to open / close the door.
Just additional thoughts to consider if there is a next time for a project like this. =3
