I am finally able to upload the first piece of artwork for Xiocotl, the bat shaman. All the things you see here will be part of the fursuit I'm making, except the body, since it will be a partial. Even the jewelry will be featured, since I own said jewelry.

Xiocotl's name is pronounced Shee-Oh-Kol. It's Aztec. I don't know the meaning, but it sounded right. You people are free to translate it if you like.

To explain the style of Xiocotl's wings, Xiocotl sacrificed his ability to fly in order to seal away a powerful dangrous spirit. The spirit threatened the people of his village, and the only way he could make it all stop was to have it take away his wings. The result is short useless wings with long pieces of blackened bone sticking out of the ends. Xiocotl then left the village, since his kind was required to fly in order to reach their homes in the mountain caves. He now lives wherever he feels is good at the present time, communing with spirits and keeping to himself.

Xiocotl is rather shy and awkward, not really sure how to act around others. But he certainly knows what to do about angry spirits that enter the household.
