First finished model in a looong time! Coincidentally, it's my second finished model. I'm reeeally skeptical about how this guy's gonna animate, but we'll see what happens! Might try something else with the top part of his shell, 's'the part that I'm least happy with, but I also hafta remind myself I'm new to modelling and I need experience, so I might just move on!

That's what I always keep telling myself in the end of creating models as well. It's so easy to compare ourselves to others, or to just feel a sense of inadequacy, but we must soldier on if we want to keep getting better. Trial-and-error is a necessary evil
I'm also curious on how you'll animate this because I feel it may turn into a feral animation, but either way, good luck man! I'm still trying to see how I can animate the models I'll be making in the future, especially for facial blend shapes and all, but I will hopefully get there. Keep it up, man! For your second finished model, I can only imagine how you'll be soaring up in skills with 3D as you're progressing.
And if you used Zbrush, I'm sure your creativity is going to go all over the place. Also, blastoise, that is all.

Hah, I was planning on him to be sorta half-feral half-humanoid. Just depending on what he needed to do. The universe he's a part of is gonna have characters ranging from entirely anthropomorphic humanoid animal to just animal animal, so he's more towards the feral side. Kinda feelin' too much wrong with this model tho, so I'm gonna move on to another one soon. I still like the character, but I'll come back to him when I have more experience! x)
As far as Zbrush goes -- or mudbox, probably what I'd use -- just scares me not knowing how it handles poly count and topology. Gonna be learning about some workflows soon an' maybe I'll try 'em to model something, but I like 'em more just for detailing meshes from maya, for now. xD
