"What you see as a slow death... I see as a new beginning. I am what I am, and I will be what I will be... uh... what was your name again?"
There is much debate about the Paras species, at least from outside of their tightly-knit cultural and social network. Many find the timeless 'birthright' of the immensely parasitic and poisonous tochukaso mushrooms barbaric, and something that should have stayed with the ferals. While the debate rages on about the morality of such actions, and if full-blown parasitized Parasects are even real people in a cognitive sense, the Paras community simply lives on, unmoved by outside pleas and continuing their traditions.
Agaric is no exception. Only recently, at his own request, has he left the comfort and safety of his own to attend the esteemed PokeCombat Academy, drawn in by tales of grand battlers passing through its hallowed halls. Even then, he is aware that his... condition may startle and unsettle a few, and he has gentle words and a warm smile to soothe fears. ("No, they are not infectious... but don't touch them, you may get a horrible rash from their toxins.") For a freshman, he's surprisingly mature and calm beyond his years, having long since accepted that he will one day cease to be a single person, and become a part of a fused entity. In fact, he looks forward to that day. Until then, all he can do is live and enjoy his 'childhood'... and try to remember names, as the fusion is starting to have a mild effect on his memory when it comes to names and faces. (To deal with this, he relies on the pen and notepad that he keeps handy on his belt pouch.)
While he lacks polish, Rick has already shown a talent for mixing stand-up battling with debilitating ailments to slow and hamper his opponents. Given time and experience, he'll make for a fine front-line bruiser, especially once he 'evolves'.
