The Daleks have been meh for the most part in the classic series. The last time they were majorly unique was Power of the Daleks were the operated from a position of weakness and planned to get power, because they've been in hibernation for so long and need power to regain their weapons. They enticed humans with promises of being servants and manipulate people into giving them back their weapons also.
Davros was both a blessing for the Daleks and a curse. After he was introduced, every Dalek story from then on had Davros in it
it kind of ruined the Daleks
when Davros appeared in the new series his plan was out of character; blow up the whole universe. Wait what? You designed the Daleks to rule and survive against everything else and for you to become ruler of the universe, why are you destroying everything? Davros you've been in that wheelchair for too long.
