Time to stop working on this so I can get back to actual work. I just really wanted to make a proper reference for Hons since he’s one of my favorite bastards, and I had a bit of time to make something.

Hons is one of Bastian’s “failed” experiments that ran off to seek safety when he realized his creator was going to incinerate him. The Reaper society protects him and in return he gives them information.
Hons was created to kill Reapers by devouring them, but his killing ability is very limited to using specified kill words with an emotional basis, thus he was dubbed a failure. He can passively read into anyone’s mind to find out what their ideal companion/lover is, then take the form of that idealized image. While he’s hunting someone he can also take up an ideal personality, helping him easily manipulate people.
Without a chosen form, he’s simply moving, sentient, genderless, sludge. Though he can appear as any gender/sex/species, he enjoys male pronouns 90% of the time. His clothes are also a product of his own mass. He can take on any appearance and mimic it perfectly, without a single flaw, unless he’s hurt or loses concentration.

Due to how dangerous he can be unsupervised, he has to have a caretaker at all times whenever he’s out of his revitalization tank. Taking care of Hons is known as one of the most stressful and tedious punishments to be given, due to Hons frequently belittling and tormenting anyone assigned to him. When not entirely devouring people, he will passively feed off of emotions, which is another part of a Caretaker’s job. Feeding him means opening yourself up to his manipulations, but not truly falling into it. They have to protect him just as much as protecting people from him, since Hons’ form isn’t actually stable. Extreme heat and cold can disrupt his appearance and hurt his cells.
Hons doesn’t understand love, he wasn’t created with human emotions or thoughts. He find love and affection idiotic and thinks of both as nothing but food. Though this way of thinking was never properly programmed in him, and many times he’ll become confused with his own feelings, never sure if he’s feeling hunger pains or actual emotions. He hides this confusion under sarcasm and asshole remarks. Though he doesn’t like to fight and will run if anyone manages to damage his body, he’s terrified of dying.

Gem was assigned as his caretaker due to her many felonies stacking up against her. She spends the most time with him out of all his caretakers, and because of that, he messes with her the most. His “default” form shown here is what Gem finds ideally attractive. Hons takes this form originally just out of spite, and to constantly embarrass her or make her uncomfortable. After awhile though he just keeps the form after growing attached to it.
