YAY I am so glad this is finished. XD This was supposed to be my Mucha inspired work (the background being inspired by some of his wine label designs!)...I can clearly say I failed in that perspective, but I had fun failing anyway. ;) I also tried to make part of his style my own, though, and I suppose that ended up working out for me!
I almost ended up ditching this entire piece as the background almost completely failed me...but sticking with it, coming up with new ideas, and jumping in headfirst ended up saving it from the dumpster. ;) So to fellow artists, never be afraid to try something new, or just go for it even when you might be afraid of the consequences. In the end, it's all a learning experience, and you can never go wrong with learning!!
Anyway, enjoy the perty lion, and the sun motif for the background (OMG symbolism!) :3 He'll be in the Anthrocon Art Show!!

the background pattern reminds me of some old sun symbol, maybe used for a brand logo or something. doesn't mean it shouldn't be re-used, mind you.
I am also glad you didn't trash it, it looks impressive and pretty, something to grace ANY living room. almost monochromous... eye-catching...
I hope you can sell it at AC. if not, I'm here. (although I guess I would have to make up installments with you. ^^' )

*smiles* You're probably thinking of the Japanese flag! It's represented by a single red disc that's supposed to be the sun...however, it's sometimes shown with rays coming from it, like this: http://www.nissansilvia.com/wp/wp-c.....nese_flag1.gif

I have this guy's little cheetah brother (king cheetah) on my wall as you enter my house. It gets many comments and adoration and many well wishings to you the artist! So...I must heap them on you *Calls in the dump truck to load 'em all up* Honest, I've had threats that since it's so close to the door I'd not notice it missing until it was too late to stop them if they wanted it! But it's still here. Thank you so much for the cheetah! It's a wonderful piece!
