Old picture redraw. Not colored, just sketched
Original is INA Shower Time was drawn waaaay back in 2006, with character. Riki, Oda, Kiti and Triko. New sketch on top has them reversed.
I mainly did this because the “new” INA style I’ve developed over the old one is basically a compromise, because I still wanted a buff Riki and a busty Kiti as these were just things that made those characters who they were.
One of the things I notice about my art progression is that I haven’t necessarily been trending toward more anatomical correctness, but just better shapes and conservation of space (especially noting I learned how to actually convey “raccoon” faces far better several years after the original), posture and expression overall. I suppose that comes with being a cartoonist and not a fine artist.

yeah this is exactly the direction i want to go in. as i am right now is pretty much the old version of this picture. i feel like i'm forcing too hard to get everything anatomically correct and it just ends up worse than i want. however trying to find a simpler style is harder than i thought
I know, i mean i feel i am putting too much effort into getting proportions perfect(did i draw the torso the right size and shape to fit ribcage, lungs, heart, liver all the correct muscle groups, etc) and they end up shittier than what i intended. when i look at my line works, they don't look smooth and look more forced and not a style that fits me
Well regardless of anatomical correctness, this style is very distinct to YOU as an artist, and you definitely do it justice.
It crazy to see your work develop. I've followed you since 2006 and now, almost a decade later, you are still developing into an incredible artist.
Bravo, Rick!

You are my favorite raccooner~
Most artist suffer from Dog Face Syndrome, where everything is a dog/fox/wolf with respective pattern.
You're my go-to guy for actual raccoon faces, and the difference is obvious between the first and the last. l3
The real question is, does something like this exist? A combined shower/sink thing? x3

Thank you! Raccoon faces are super tricky to get "correct" in a way that retains adorableness.
I think shower/sink exists somewhere, the question is why isn't it more prevalent? I'd think it'd save space in a single-occupant apartment for one. (In this case though, it's a communal shower)

I guess maybe from an environment standpoint -- if you're brushing your teeth in the shower, you're wasting more water than if you did it at the sink. If you brush your teeth in the shower with a sink of it's own, you're wasting even more! Maybe also because most people can't keep their shower clean and it'd be all weird and grody to step into it... l3
But yes, you're my go-to raccoon guy~ Whenever you open, I'm all up in that. l3
