An older piece from August '05. My half of a trade with the talented and lovely Lady Jeboah! I believe she is half unicorn and half dragon. Regardless, she is 100% cute! ^_^
This is possibly my favorite out of all of my drawings. Prismacolor marker, Micron inks, and a few sparkly gel pen highlights.

I think the trick is to work really quickly. They stay damp for a certain amount of time, and that's when it's easiest to work with them. It also helps to load layers of color on... they tend to mask the marks.
Something you can try in the meantime is the "Clear Blender" prisma marker. I don't use mine anymore (unless to blend out mistakes on white), but it was helpful in getting them to blend at first.
Unfortunately, they tend to spot-up a little bit. o_O
Layering a little watercolor pencil atop the marker work sometimes helps, too!

Hum... the unfortunate thing is you get different qualities and hues of color depending on how many times you go over the paper with the marker... with my trias, I move very quickly, and as the lines blend outward just slightly (on the medium size tip) they fuse together and once they dry it's the same color all the way through! When I see Prismas used in this way, they always leave patches where it seems like the grain of the paper shows through in the color of the ink.
I just finally switched over to using variable width pigment pens for inking and so I'm playing with coloring in marker more... My workplace has some Prismas I've considered snagging a bit box of, but I just dunno if it would be worth it. Yet everyone seems to swear by them! My other concern is how to work around not having a fine-point tip like the Tria markers do.
