The night was young as the last bits of sunlight had fully disappeared over the horizon leaving the small bunch of trailers that inhabited the minute town of Sandy Shores coated in a veil of darkness. All of the inhabitants had retreated inside their run down places they called home to escape the world lacking of color now that a sliver of the moon shown above; all but one.
Mystic kicked back in the trailer, her pads resting against a small round coffee table as she lifted a Sprite to her maw. Hey eyes were glued to the TV as the show Cops came on. She laughed, grabbed the remote and turned it up. Just as she did so Trevor, an older rough man who had lived here alone before she came along, kicked through the door. He swayed as he looked at her, a crooked grin upon his face and a Pibwasser in hand.
“God dammit Trevor! You’re drunk again...” Mystic scowled as she stood and went over to him, plucking the beer from his fingers.
“Ahhh… woman, why don’t yeh jist let me have … a lil fun… ??” he questioned before falling the floor before her.
She frowned and dumped the rest of the alcohol down the sink. “If you were more responsible… then yeah I would!” she shouted and tossed the bottle. “I’ve been waiting for you. Tonight is the night Aiden is taking her brother out and leaving ‘her’ home alone...” She spoke ill of the girlfriend that would be left behind in the trailer, alone. “Now, take this and let’s go!” she tossed his sniper rifle at him which he barely managed to catch in his shaky grip as he stood up.
The thought of killing perked T up in moments and before long he hopped in the driver seat of his red Bodhi and they were off. “Where to Mrs. Philips?” he laughed as the truck rolled out onto the roadway.
“Oh not far, Aiden lives just across the park,” she pointed before frowning at his commentary, “You’ve never met her before… you’ll like her, trust me.”
“HAH, doubtful… pretty soon you’ll have all your furry friends living here and I’ll have to move,” he snickered, not serious of course. He pulled up to the trailer and shifted into park. The truck lunged as he was still a bit shaky from the drink.
“Shh, be quiet T. Now… Aiden said Tiffany would be in the spare bedroom…” the she-wolf pulled out the binoculars but before she could even scope the place out Trevor had exited the truck, rather loudly, and was pounding along the side of the home.
“Get out here you good for nothing piece of shit!” he rounded the backside, “You heard me Tiffany! Get your motherfucking ass out here!” he growled lowly.
Mystic pressed her fingers to her temples, “Uhh.. we’ll be needing the bat…” she grabbed it from the back and jumped out. “Trev!” she padded to Trevor and traded the bat for the rifle.
He looked at it. “What’s this?” he noted the bent rusted nails that had been jammed through the end. “I’m liking this!” he laughed as he swung leaving a gaping hole in the side of the trailer. “Alright Tiffany, you’ve left me no choice!” the balding man shouted. His hard eyes spotted a window that had light emitting from it only moments before. His lip curled as the glass was impaled with a blunt force. It shattered inward causing a series of screams to come from inside. “Ahh gotcha,” his raspy voice whispered as he pulled himself through the window and rolled onto the floor.
The room was dark and messy as he stood looking around. No one was home aside from his target. Aiden was instructed to take her brother out only moments before the Bodhi pulled up leaving the entire place empty and ready for the massacre. He tip toed as he tapped the bat in his palm, “Come out… come out…” he teased, as his hard soled boots tapped the ground quietly. “This won’t hurt… much,” he smirked.
Meanwhile Mystic waited outside, her back leaned up against the trailer door as she surveyed the area. Occasionally a passerby would wander up the street leaving her to give them a warning growl which would quickly send them on their way.
Back inside the trailer T had searched the entirety of the bedroom and was now working his way down the hall. He came around the corner and there he spotted her. She stood, halfway huddled upon the couch, peering over the back at him as he stood with bat in hand and a look that can only be explained using the term ‘excited puppy’. He fidgeted as the short stocky girl pulled a revolver from behind the couch and aimed it at him. It hung loosely in her hand as she shook with fear.
Trevor stared back at her, his hard glassy eyes watching the tip of the gun as it wobbled within her palm. “We both know you don’t have the guts you wanna be piece of shit!”
Tiffany closed her eyes and pulled the trigger. T fell to the ground before leaping up and swinging the bat. Again she shot and managed to clip him in the shoulder. He winced but that rage that surged through his veins took the edge off. The bat cracked upon her hand making her drop the gun and she doubled back yowling in pain.
Trevor leapt to the top of the couch as she rolled backwards onto the floor. Tears streamed down her face while her curly hair stuck to her cheeks. She reached around grabbing for anything to throw at the crazy redneck before her. Everything that she tossed just bounced off of him as he jumped down and soon hovered above her. “Any last words?” he questioned but before she got the chance to answer his muscles strained bringing the bat down across her face.
The nails dug into her flesh, ripping and tearing at both muscle and bone as he took out all of his frustrations upon her face. She screamed before her own crimson life force clogged her lungs making her cough and sputter as she slowly suffocated.
Mystic could hear the brutality that was going on behind the door. Tiffanys screaming echoed down the long dusty road just as Aiden and her brother pulled up. Mystics auds perked as she watched them get out. A fellow she-wolf, grey head to toe, stepped from the driver seat as her human brother leapt out from the other side. He heard the screams from behind the door. “Tiff? TIFF!” he pushed through Mystic and inside where he saw Trevor standing over a bloody body. He ran to her and lifted her into his arms. Her face was gone, brain hung from her skull as the final bits of life seeped from her body through a series of quick convulsions.
Trevor stood there, bat held in both hands as his chest heaved heavily. His heart beat against his aging ribcage as his hard eyes remained locked on the blood soaked corpse before him. Anger flashed across Aidens brothers visage as he stood, “You bastard! You fucking son of a…” he ate his words as T threw his fist into the mans maw, knocking him cold out. He fell back and landed across his dead girlfriend.
“Trevor, everything ok?!” Mystic bounded in, followed by Aiden.
The balding man turned, blood and sweat soaking through his white V neck as his eyes softened. “You’re welcome.” He threw the bat to the ground and walked past Mystic, his gaze meeting with hers for a second before he walked out.
“This is Aiden…” the she-wolf gestured to her friend but it fell on deaf ears. Trevor was already outside lighting up a cigarette by the truck. She turned, “I’m so sorry about that… he’s a bit hard to get close to sometimes. Trust me, once he gets to know you he’ll open up,” she smiled. Their heads twisted as they looked over the gruesome mess before them. “Why don’t you take care of your brother and I’ll get rid of the body,” Mystic lifted what was left of Tiffany over her shoulder, blood seeping into her fur, before looking back to Aiden as she stood near the door. “We’ll touch base tomorrow,” she grinned and stepped through the doorway. A thud from the lifeless body came from outside soon followed by tires peeling out on gravel before disappearing into the distance.
