Unfortunately, welcome to being an artist (not employed by a studio or major company).

i think ill do fine with just myself on what i make now, just helping my folk with big bills that really make it hard to move on. so it like me taking care of a family of 7 then them. this is some thing that just came to me with not much heads up. so i hope you can see why im doing what ever to make money, just hate it has to be more of a priority then make it at a speed that comfortable to me and my watcher then saying hey i really need your bizzes, and to put on top of that im working even more then i use to ( and i already work hard enough that it is. ) that what i get for making this my job o well hope thing tune out well in the end.

If you are comfortable with working on your own, then more power to you. Nothing should stop you from doing what you like.

However, most artists that work for a studio can make $60k/yr or more of steady income, after a few years in the industry. There are many outlets for such talent, such as video games, graphic novels, book illustrators, and much more. Sending a portfolio out with your work would get your name out in the least and allow for more opened doors. In my opinion, your art is worthy of many different venues and at a sizable price. The money made on FA by any artist is chump change compared to what could be made elsewhere. I would love to see a graphic novel or indie game with your style as a major component to the workings of the story. However, you are free to do as you please. I do not find it greedy to ask for money to help with the bills. And I just wanted you to know there are options out there besides internet sites. I try to give a gentle push to the idea that there is something better. It took me a long time to find out for myself. Is there a reason that you have not tried working at a studio?

Disclaimer to random furries: the following paragraph is not up for dispute nor debate. I don't care about your negatively contrarian comments. I will ignore you.

However, I do find the auctions on here to be a little greedy(unless for charity), but that is because I do not like artificial inflation due to forced limitation and many other reasons. But, this is my own grievance. Though, before, I have expressed that if anyone makes money from this site, it would be nice should they decide to donate 1-10% back to the website, however, that was not well received by the masses. Even though I would donate had I ever made money from this site, because I feel that it is wrong to make income from someone else's labor (making the site and keeping it up to date and storing the massive amounts of data, allowing you to advertise on your profile, etc.). Forgive the ramblings, they are just thoughts and hopes for a better world/website. *sigh*

Personally, I do not like working for friends nor extensions of friends. I consider the furry fandom as a whole to be just the latter. When I was between work, I was a maid service for my friends at $10/hr(now I make more than double that) for a few hours a week, but I always felt bad, because they could have used that money for something besides a clean house. If I made money on here, it would only be for entertainment money. But these are merely my own way of doing things. Everyone has a different approach to survive. :P

I do hope things get better for you. It's not fun paying bills. I would help out, but right now I'm being greedy myself. I have been playing catch up on credit cards and now enjoying the little extra cash that I haven't had in a year of moving out from home. Plus, I took a Steam sale to the wallet. XD

ok thank you, I have been in some project like how to draw books and animation. as for working for games and stuff just don't feel as free with my work so I try not to get to invalid, and for a graphic novel been trying to make one just things pop up and I have to put it off to the side, one day ill do it. as for where the money goes food and home rent and some time helping other peps pay for thing like late bills, and some times to have thing printed so I can sell books of my work, I don't really use much any more for fun stuff, I see a lot of peps use it for gaming and such even the popular furs do it, and just find it funny that I just spend all my time drawing and posting, when others do the same wall doing game and such, but its fine im not much of a gamer. so in all most of my money is just spent on living and helping others and rarely, small fun stuff when I can.

last, I just like to say. I do my best for this community and do as much as I can for it. and try to be as humble as I can. I really don't consider my self popular, im just happy peps like what I do. well ill stop ranting this nonsense wow I suck at writing things.

Everyone has to find a way to make a living nowadays. Money is tight and hanging onto it is hard. You're doing this because you NEED the money to get by, not because everyone is jumping on the bandwagon like "OMG (insert popular artist's names) are on Pateron and I should as well so I can be popular like them!"
