For any of you who don't know, I love Monster Hunter. I always have loved Monster Hunter. However, I'm not too good with fighting scenes when it comes to writing. It's a blind spot to me and it's hard to fucking comprehend for my peaceful brain. You might be able to see it in my story, or maybe I'm just being too hard on myself. Who fucking knows. I don't. I do, however, plan on continuing this regardless of whether or not y'all like it. Of course, I might give up on it. Who knows? We'll see.

Another thing. I'm marking this mature for blood. That's a proper thing to do, right? Well, I've considered Monster Hunter a relatively mature game, so why shouldn't the story be mature. Not that kids don't play Monster Hunter, but... Ah, fuck it. I don't care. Using the fuck it approach. This and all following parts shall be general audience unless some outside force or part of my writing begs to differ.

Also another thing. I don't think there's a canid species in Monster Hunter. And if there is, I'd sure love to meet them. All I know are the Felynes. Seeing as it's spelled with a y, rather than an i, I did the same for dogs and wolves and stuff. Canynes. Fucking clever, right? No? You're probably right. I'm not likely the first to think of that. Ah, well. Deal with it. If you want further details, I'll elaborate with you. It's no problem. I'll try my best to sate your curiosity. (To be honest, the felynes aren't the only cat-like creatures. In a whole, they are the Lynians. I just have no idea how they came up with Lynian, so I can draw a parallel for canine creatures. Y'all can understand, right?)

Lastly, I don't know exactly how the switch axe works. They don't really explain it and I'm not sure exactly how they switch "gears" or whatever. This is the only possibly way my brain could portray it without outside help and elaboration into the matter, so enjoy. If you can't figure it out, use fucking levers. I am a dumb. Forgive me. Or don't. Your choice.

Oh, sorry. I forgot. The "active" part of the story is written in present tense. I don't know why, but I felt it should be. It feels weird writing in present tense outside of conversations. Sorry if it feels odd to read. God, it felt odd to write. You know what else feels odd. Not writing it in notepad. It's in fucking .odt format. It should be compatible with Microsoft Office. I think so, anyway. It's in .doc format now. Had to correct a few things and stuff. Hope it all translated over the way it was supposed to. Let me know if you're having problems with it, and I'll see if I can do something about it.
