this is a new fursona/character of mine because i really wanted a bird sona. shes super secondary since sage is actually based off of me whereas apologia isnt, but ill try to make a ref for her.

bascially, apologia is a leucistic screech owl. leucistic animals lack pigment in all or most of their skin. it is not albinism, however there is a pinkish tint to most open skin as well as leucistic bird's beaks. their eyes are often blue. sometimes parts of leucistic animals will still contain pigment.

also, the opposite of leucistic(ness? not sure of a plural term) is melanism, which is where most or all of the skin is pigmented in complete black.
