I've been involved with puppeting for a few years now; mostly at Morphicon and MFF. Earlier this year I decided to have a custom puppet built of my fursona - Silaria. (It's the only way I was going to have a Unicorn I was 100% happy with.)
She arrived in the mail today and she wanted to say hello to all of you!

She's costing me $875. Part of that is because of the removable legs she has for when I'm doing performances on a puppet stage versus without a stage. The other reason for the cost is the higher quality materials used - specifically the Antron Fleece (more commonly known as Muppet Fleece) that covers most of her body. Antron fleece is very durable and hides seems so I figured it was worth the extra cost.
Her hands are posible so she can hold things.
If you are going to AC, you may get to see her in person since I'll be walking around with her.

Yup! She's what I was talking about a few weeks ago. :)
Unfortunately I have to send her back for some modification. I have problems putting her on my arm when her legs are attached. :( She'll be back soon enough; I just won't have her for AC. (No huge loss since AC is not a puppetry con for me.)

Alright, I gotta ask. Who made the puppet? Only people I really know about is this bunch: http://www.axtell.com/ or making my own thanks to the book and dvd these guys made: http://www.pickamenu.com
I got it from Thistledown Puppets. Before settling on them, I looked at 3 other studios. Thistledown wasn't the cheapest but they were the best price for the materials I was looking for.
That is awesome! I want to do that with my fursonna some day. That will probably be when I can get the materials to build him. By the way, Swift had kinda briefly mentions about you being in puppetry and he kinda asked me if I'd be interested in any involve ment. I'll have to recheck the PM we had on the subject from PA furries, but if you ever need someone to help out, give me a holler because I could use the experience.
We'll have to talk more on that sometime.
