The low grumbling of just over a dozen diesel engines idling in the mid-day's sun barely mutes out the labored mutterings of both men and machines, nor does it entirely phase out Major Callista Samstag's fire commands that she was hollering out perhaps too loud into her radio set's hand mic. She held the mic in one hand and her spotting scope up to her eye, in the other. Her liveliness betrayed her excitement to those that had until recently only known her more kindly and demur demeanor up until this point that is.
"Counter-battery fire! Range.....damnedfugging-contrap-..rrrr!-", she sputters angrily in sudden frustration as she reworks the focus and sets in the range, continuing to stammer a profuse torrent of indecipherable noises that could occasionally be taken for words by the individuals still listening to her tirade over the radio.
Another twist, another turn...Aaand.. There! Perfect!
"Range, 4770 meters! Arty' on the high ridge there ahead of us, troops in the open along the top of the line there. Round, Frag, 6 second fuse. By my command...fire!"

Cally is the commander of a self propelled artillery detachment within the 3rd Magnorod Pandurs (Pandours) regiment. Her uniform is slightly different from the other Pandur uniforms due to her being in a mechanized unit and thus she wears the jacket, gloves and so forth of a vehicle crewmen.
