I suck at backgrounds. I know this, and my watchers know it. Its not the greatest piece but this was great practice and, while I am not 100% satisfied with it, I am happy with it. Enjoy~

The flower's a really cool thing to have to contrast the rest of the picture with ^^
It made me think of the 'Treestar' from the original 'Land Before Time' x3

Looks fantastic ^^, practice makes perfect. I'd say you maybe need to work on blending the light rays a little, just so it looks more natural? I'm not really an artist xD so I dunno how to give better criticism. :3

I was taking it off a reference pic which had lighting like that but since there were significant changes made for the cave in this image I can see that the lighting might have had to change too x3

Oh god, it's amazing, it already creates a nice atmosphere in it. =3
Although the lighting here could need some more practice. I don't think the ground towards the dark cave would receive that much light. o.o

Aw, I really like this background! Only thing i'd suggest maybe to make it look more 'atmospheric' would be to overlay some kind of rock texture on the image.

yeah you do lack some skills in bg, but mostly due lack of pratice, compared to characters. I know you could had done better here, and express your feelings a lot more, but it's nevertheless a great work.
