No we didn't go this fast but I thought it was uber cool to see
WY did change a few Interstates to this speed
Why higher speed limits in the West?
This is Miles Per Hour btw
Well WY is the LEAST populated state in USA

I crossed MT in '99. I missed not having a speed limit by a few years. Then again, I was driving a 20 foot U-Haul towing a full size pickup, both loaded with my household goodies. Speed was inadvisable.
Back in the late '90s, WA decided to raise the speed limit from 65. They did similar studies and came to similar conclusions. The limit they set was merely 70. Then again, WA is nowhere near as empty as WYO.

Years ago when the states could determine the highway speed, such speed limits as 80 mph was allowed along highways in states west of the Mississippi river. The state of Montana had coined the speed limit term, "Resume a safe speed," as safe for what type of vehicle, as well age and condition authorized what speed could be proper for vehicle by vehicle limits. In the late 1960's I drove through Montana doing it at a pace faster than 80. There is always some foolhardy individual who will want to exceed the speed limits!
they ran a bilboard add in the north central valley CA for I think mustang.. with a spped limit sign saying 'I-5' under 'Speed limit' Thats all that needed to be said. speed limit maxes out at 70, tho Ive seen so many doing 120+like im doing 80, and a sedan goes by and sucks the car over as it zeuums by. There and GONE!
For some reason, I'm reminded of taking note on the way to Vegas, these stretches of the I-5 that did a nasty thing. Between the spots of nowhere and nowhere without any real change to the paving, the speeds would constantly vary between 70 MPH and 50 MPH. While perhaps a leftover from some past construction, I could only come up with one reason...uncontrolled speeding traps. Just imagine the value of tickets to catch unaware motorists doing 25+ over a surprise speed drop zone! And, this is GOING to Vegas. So, they're expecting folks to be carrying cash!
At least, it's just a theory of mine. No visibility limitations or road deterioration or curves or...anything to justify the drop...except just to do it.

And, that just reminded me of another spot I once saw. This country road that had a long straight away marked at 50 MPH. It approaches this abandoned building on a curve with a limit that suddenly drops to 20 MPH. In the shadows was a bike cop. So, I can imagine a crooked force setting up a trap that drops 80 down to 30 or so!
WOW!!! 90 mph is 144km|h, in Brazil the higher speed limits for this tipe of road is 80km|h(50 mph), and the speed limits for the highways are 110km|h(62mph), the higher speed limit from Brazil is of 120km|h(75 mph) (although many people go at 90mph, 100mhp, 110mph in the highways), in Brazil we have some highways like the Mario Covas beltway and the Bandeirantes highway would you say you can do like in the Autobahns, remove the speeds limits, but what they want in really is not your safety but fine you, in the Regis Bittencourt highway, the speed limit varies of 60km|h(37mph) to 110km|h(68mph), and this variation of speed limits occurs at least one mile, and the road is entire of radars.
