An idea I had for a very long time. Inspired by some comments I read, but I cant remember where they are.
The original plan was a full blown comic with 4 pages and 4 panels a piece. Due to how busy I am, I cut it down to 2 panels, but decided to add 2 more to the beginning.

Funny sequence and great rendering. There has never been an intelligent explanation for this reformation nonsense, so I guess the next best thing is to make fun of it. I really don't know where people get this idea, although I suppose it is useful if you have a vore fetish and don't want to see your character die after the first RP session. Realistically, if the dragon digested them, something close to 80% of their bodies would essentially be turned into 'dragon'. So where does the new matter come from to "reform" their bodies? It wouldn't be from the dragon, as there would have been no point eating them in the first place.
Thanks for sharing.

Considering we're dealing with fantasy and anthropomorphic creatures, it's all "nonsense" really. :3

When reforming the predator can choose to absorb/retain part of the mass/matter from the prey, retain none of it, or even transfer some of their own mass to the prey.
This mass is usually deducted from or added to the prey through weight or height.
The Predator retains the preys soul/essence within them and then focuses the energy into a physical form with the remaining matter of which they choose to leave the prey with. So if they consume a prey whose 6'2" and 210 lbs, they may be reformed being 5'11 175 lbs.
In the end though, it boils down to some people (like me) liking the idea of being devoured and nurturing the predator, but not having to die forever in order to do it. Some see it as an intimate act in which they are the closest they could ever be to someone, and the predator caring enough for them or loving them enough to bring them back or let them out. Being able to fully trust them.
Judging by your favorites I would assume you prefer the fatal/"realistic" side, either fully submitting to the predator by perishing forever or being the predator and forever dominating the prey through devouring and permanently killing them, keeping part of the prey in you through absorbing the nutrients from their body.
All has to do with preferences and the stretch of the human imagination. ^..^

I suppose it is all 'nonsense' then, though here in the 21st century, billions and billions of humans still worship an enormous 'god crature' described in the Bible as having huge wings, breathes fire, hordes treasures, and receives mass quantities of cattle and the occasional virgin sacrifice as offerings.
Your ideas then do have some merit, if the predator in questions were some kind of 'god' with the power of creating and reseurrecting life, but in the general, furry-vore community, it would seem every common predator has this same ability.
In the case of this particular artwork, the 'golden dragon' has remarkable similarities to the fire breathing, gold holding, winged, carnivorous deity of the Bible, so the creation/reseurection ability seems a bit more feasible than the typical 'reformation' notion that every "Wile E. Coyote" or "Wally Gator" character somehow having the power of creation/reformation, though otherwise are just another average 'furson' in the 'furryverse'.
