Why? Because you clearly don't know the laws where you live.
Each state has a similar law adopted for the sake of security: Any blade longer than two inches is considered a deadly weapon, and you can be pulled over by the cops, have your sword confiscated, and given either a fine or a court date to appear before a judge for your actions.
