Life's A Chibi: Quick Conclusions
Drawing a conclusion on a subject you don't understand, or don't wish to understand, is easier than taking the time to understand the subject presented to you. This is standard behavior for anyone who is low on patience or has no time/doesn't want to take the time to understand. The one who is jumping blindly into a conclusion on a confusing subject can either be coming from an already stamped frame of mindset, rules and/or belief. If the topic/idea that does not agree with their way of thinking or logic or belief should be quickly judged without taking the time to hear out the topic/idea fully. Once that person's quick conclusion is made, hardly anything can change it, even if the subject matter doesn't involve their way of thinking or logic. If it doesn't look right to one's eyes, it is therefore judged quickly without any room for explanation.
In my opinion, it is best to take the time to listen to the topic/idea/belief you don't understand. The more you hear about it, the more information you obtain that might go against your quick conclusion. You might even change your view point on the subject and understand the subject matter and/or find out that the subject matter is harmless, does not effect you or involve you, that its none of your business and you don't need to waste your time to criticize or judge the matter. Everyone is free to voice their opinion. Its just HOW and WHEN that matters. Is it deeply negative to the point where it comes out as a threat or downright hurtful? Does it come off as selfish and spiteful? Will it have you come off as an enemy or violent? If it does, best to think before you speak.
This was a subject that was swimming in the back of my head for some time.Every time I read or viewed an article of a group of people protesting on a particular and rather harmless viewpoint and their reaction to it, ( or even from personal/artistic experience ) it motivated me a little more to do this image. Getting the message out wasn't an issue, DRAWING it was. I didn't want to touch on a typical subject that was brought up from time and time again, so I did something random, something that no one would understand what was going on from first glance and thus, would judge the activity rather quickly without understanding what was going on.

I have a good example:
- A popufur jumping his blind fans/watchers/white-knights into a amateur and young artist who "traced" for practise and at the end traumatising the user. Methods used: ganking, cursing, shaming, blackmailing, guilt-tripping.
I was the victim of it.
I could be simply told passively to tell me it is not ok, or to credit it or just to remove it. But nope, people are idiots.

I have been bullied a lot too in a way that fits to the picture here. Sadly all the "behaviour" of the Bulliers have been within the limits of the laws -_-
BUT If I was doing something to defend myself I would immediately fall under the limits of law and the judge & jury would ignore the provoking behaviour of the bulliers -_-

Funny thing is, i could not defend myself, I had very few friends + i was only diagnosed with autism in the past 2 years which means it makes me super sensitive to "bullying". I hate when people jump into conclusions like I'm some kind of thief or murderer. I learned from that mistake, but I also could learn the good way. When I see tracers, I first go look if they are underage because people that age do not have good social skills, and i tell them that is not ok, etc etc. They cooperate very easily and never had traced again by the time i watched them.
Tracing and publishing the work as yours is bad, but tracing is a good way to learn line work and patterns. It's how I learned to draw at 6 years old when I had this nice coloring book that I would trace the flowers and stems helping me develop good straight lines and curves. I would imagine this would work with digital art too to help you get used to the tablet.
Whatever convention that person is attending looks like fun! I would happily go to that then listen to mister narrow minded *my way is the right way* sillyness. That usually leads you to being a *preacher* of all that is wrong with the world and only you, and your close personal buddies, know *the right way* to do everything.
*sends a hug over to the adoreable suiter critter and smirks at the ranter*. Life is a game..roll that d20 sucker :)

It's the ego.
We are the heroes of our life's story, so most of us will fight tooth and claw to ensure that we stay the hero. We'll justify our mistakes and our bad behavior as the other guy's fault in order to avoid the pains of embarrassment and shame. After all, if they hadn't been so weird, so deliciously victimizable, so different, so having what we want but don't have, we wouldn't have had been forced to employ such villainy in the first place. We defend our honor not necessarily because it's honorable but because to do otherwise would allow the unthinkable: our precious pride getting hurt. To transcend this sort of thinking is extremely difficult, even for the most open-minded and responsible person.

Wow I think I know exactly what you're talking about. If I'm right we're pretty much on exactly the same wavelength about it. But really, regardless of what inspired it, it's something that can be applied across the board rather universally, and that's what made it a good idea to make it non-specific like this.
I'm sadden that some people are close minded when it comes to cosplay,or fursuiting,or even the geek culture.
Unfortunatly, the current events that are happning these days all around the world make things worse.Fear reinforces those closed minds.
Stll on trhe subject, when my mother sees me wear my shirts with characters on then or my Eevee winter beenie, she thinks that it's childish.Other people on the other hand like them and compliment me.
