I was always scared that if the food I was eating had a smiley face or something, I would be hurting it if I took a bite or something. ^-^;;

You eat the gingerbread mouse's head first, so that if he can feel pain he's immediately put out of his misery and his head is in your belly before he can be distressed.

Of course, the traditional feline way to eat prey-cookies is to soak them in milk until they turn all mushy, or bat them around until they break into little pieces. That's mean to the poor cookies though!

Kitten incisors are too small to decapitate a mouse cookie though, so I bite mine through the neck with my pointy tooths before devouring them.

Prav's strategy here was to stalk the cookie while it was sitting on the plate, pounce suddenly, grab it by the tail, bat it with his other paw and bite it as it swings past his mouth. He doesn't care about being mean. ^.^
