PROMISE TO RETURN
Sir Chris lay on the warm belly of the emerald green dragon, her heat enveloping his already perspiring body. The young black knight was naked under the starry sky, his clothes laying next to the large creature, along with his sword and sheild. He was too hot to get dressed now, and the cool temperature of the night felt good on his body. Sir Chris heard the dragon give a low murr. He turned over onto his stomach and crawled up to the dragon's face. Her big beautiful eyes shined like a pair of blue moons. She murred louder now.
The knight spoke no words, but only ran his hand down the dragon's soft scaley face, mesmerized by her loveliness. His fingers ran to her short muzzle, and slipped in between the lips. Delicately the dragon sucked on the two little digits, enjoying the rich sensual taste. Her long lizard-like tongue tickled at the tips of the fingers, making the knight smile. She pushed his fingers back out, and looked up into his chocolate brown eyes. He, in turn, looked into her sapphire blue eyes. A strong urge passed between them, going from knight to dragon and from dragon to knight, and it made both of them gulp. The man leaned in to the creature, and he pucked up his lips. She watched in amazement, her eyes growing ever bigger as the man leaned in closer. His sultry lips touched hers, pushed into hers, and planted a soft gentle kiss on the dragon. Sir Chris breathed into the dragon's mouth, giving her life, his soul, his all and his everything.
The dragon returned the breath, sending a wave of heat through the knight's body, causing him to tremble and let out a moan. Her big wings wrapped around the man to gently caress his body. They were semi-transparent, so the knight was not enveloped into darkness underneath them. Sir Chris pulled his lips back, and he rested his head against the dragon's cheek. She murred again, and let him rest. He had earned that rest tonight, making the dragon feel like...like...well, like she had never felt before in her life! It was simply beyond words. And she hoped he would make her feel this way every night, too. The dragon closed her eyes. She fell asleep. Under the stars.
"Sir Chris!"
A young woman hid in the bushes close to the dragon and knight. Her eyes had witnessed what happened, but her heart told it was not so - it had to be an illusion! The Princess held her pink dress up to her thighs, not wanting to drag it in the mud, while she spied on the knight. She watched as Sir Chris rested on top of the one hundred foot long dragon, expecting him to wake up and slay the beast - or at least expect to wake up herself from this horrible nightmare. Yet neither happened. The night went on. The Princess crept back into the castle, trying not to cry; she had to be silent, or else father would wake up and find her out of bed, and wonder where she had been. And if she told him about Sir Chris, he would have the knight slain, as well as the dragon. The King's daughter wouldn't mind the dragon being slayed, but the dark knight? No! She slipped into her chamber, and closed the large steel door as quietly as was possible.
Leaning against the door, the Princess buried her face in her hands and wept. She slid down the length of the door and fell on her butt on the floor. Loudly she cried, warm tears running down her cheeks and falling on the floor. Her heart was crushed, torn to a thousand pieces. The one whom had given her a white rose at the end of the Tournament, the one whom had smiled at her as she passed by the gardens where the knights practiced, the same one whom had given her a dragon tooth on her birthday, was cheating with a beast! She could not believe that a soldier would do such a thing. Thousands of reasons ran in her head - and she wanted to believe them all.

The next morning, the dragon got up to drink her fill from a large lake nearby. She craned her neck down and lapped at the water like a dog. Her reflection shimmered in the lake. The fish scattered at the sight of the large creature. Sir Chris woke up a few minutes after the dragon did. Finding the scaley missing, he got up and put his tunic on, and went in search of her. The knight found her drinkng at the lake, and he decided to join her, being thirsty himself. Sir Chris walked over to the dragon's tail and touched the fluffy end of it. It was so soft, softer than hair. He ran his hand down the length and over the dragon's scaley body, feeling the hard yet gentle emeralds which covered the dragon from head to toe. She lifted her head as his hand came to her neck, and murred at the black knight, her eyes gleaming with love. The man was mesmerized by such beautiful orbs. He kissed the dragon on the mouth, and stroked her face lightly.
"Such a gorgeous dragon, yet I do not even know your name," Sir Chris spoke in a strong yet gentle voice.
"My name is Emerald, Sir Knight. And I know your name. It is Christopher," the dragon replied in a low voice.
"How do you know my name, Emerald?"
"Hehe. I know more than just your name, Sir Chris. I know where you live, how you fight, what you eat, and where you enjoy going to be by yourself. I've been spying on you, on your..."
She stopped suddenly. Should she continue, or would it offend the knight? She knew much about him, but his heart was hidden from her eyes. It was as if a veil had been pulled over them, blinding her from knowing the man's thoughts and feelings. The dragon awred.
"On my what?" the knight asked.
"Complexity," Emerald finished.
"Complexity?"
The dragon rubbed her snout on Sir Chris' arm, getting it wet with her mositure. It only took the knight a second to realize what she was talking about.
"Oh, you mean my skin!"
"Yes. Your skeen. I've never seen such a color before. Is it magic?"
"No. I'm not a magician."
"Can I...?"
Emerald rubbed her snout against the knight's body, trying to get the color off, but all she was doing was getting her moistutre on him. He lightly pushed the dragon's muzzle away, to get her to stop, and pat her on the snout.
"It won't rub off, Emerald. It's just...just the color of my body," Sir Chris informed.
"Your skeen is so soft and beautiful," Emerald crooned.
"Your scales are much softer and more beautiful, dragon."
"You're just saying that."
"No. I really mean it. You're a very beautiful dragon."
Emerald murred.
The knight smiled at her, then joined the dragon for a drink. He crouched down and plunged his hands into the lake, cupping them, like a bowl, and brought up some water to his mouth to drink. Emerald lapped at the waters beside him. The fish did not go near them. After a few minutes of drinking, the knight and the dragon stood back up, their thirst quenched. Sir Chris wiped his mouth, and he and Emerald turned to go back to where they had been last night, the knight needing to put the rest of his clothes on and gather his things.
"So why do you wear these clothes?" Emerald asked.
"Because it's only decent, and it gets cold at night," Sir Chris answered.
"But I can keep you warm at night. And I like it when you're not wearing any clothes."
"I know. But as a knight it is my duty to be chivalrious."
"Chev-al-res?"
"Chivalrious. It is a code I must follow as a knight. If I break the code, I am liable to punishment. And depending on what I've done, or failed to do, I can be sentenced to death."
"I don't like that code," Emerald stated in a dark tone.
"Don't worry, Emerald. I would have to do something very grave - such as commit treason - in order to be sentenced to death."
"What is treason, Sir Chris?"
"That is an attempt to overthrow the government or to murder the King. It is the highest crime one can commit in the kingdom."
They arrived at a large clearing in the forest, and there on the ground was the knight's clothing, folded just the way he had left them. Sir Chris put his clothing back on. He sheathed his sword and set his shield on his back. Emerald laid on the grass and watched him dress, fascinated by the clothing and items. The knight tighted his belt, then turned to face the dragon, and presented himself to her.
"So, what do you think?" he asked.
"I think you look really silly with all that on, Sir Chris," Emerald answered.
"Too much?"
"Yes. Here, let me help..."
The dragon got up and she "helped" the knight out, undoing his belt and sliding the shield off his back, than pulling his tunic and boots off. She laid back down on the grass, smiling elvishly.
"There we go! Now you look beautiful, Sir Knight!"
He looked down at himself, and blushed.
"I look naked, Emerald."
"Nekkid?"
"Yes. I look like I'm not wearing any clothes at all."
"Mmhmm! You look very beautiful without all those clothes on."
"...I'm going to put my clothes back on."
The dragon awred, but the knight would have none of that. He dressed himself again, and made a mental note to never ask Emerald again about how he looked. Swinging the shield onto his back and putting his arms through the big straps, he was ready to return to the Kingdom of Ben. Sir Chris led the dragon through the forest, almost to the very edge, where the kingdom laid. He stopped, the tall stone walls of the kingdom in sight. The knight turned and gave the dragon an affectionate kiss, looking up into her big eyes as he did.
He broke the kiss, and signed.
"You're such a beautiful dragon! I don't want to leave you, but I must go," Sir Christ spoke in a grave voice.
"I don't understand. Why are you leaving me?" Emerald asked in a sad voice.
"I'm not. I just have to attend to my knightly duties. In the kingdom. And dragons aren't allowed in the kingdom. I will be back."
And with that, Sir Chris turned and left. Emerald sat her bottom on the ground and watched him leave. He was being so cruel to her, just leaving like that and not telling her when he'd be back. The gates opened up, allowing the knight to pass through, and closed after him. Did Sir Chris have another dragon he loved? Why wasn't she allowed in the kingdom? And more importantly, would he ever return to her? Such thoughts ran in the dragon's head as she sat and waited for the man to come back. Her stomach growled. She was hungry.
