Please Sleep Happy Tonight
when you go to bed tonight
be sure to have some good delight.
let your weary eyes go rest
As you try, to sleep your best
The night has come, and soon to go
A brillant time, that some don't know.
If you try to sleep with sorrow
Your lasting time, to only borrow.
Creating noises, outside your door
Your mom and dad, and nothing more
walking down the darkened hall
opening your door, with creaks of small
thats not your parents down the stairs
merely monsters that hunt in pairs.
To live from monsters, fake a snore
or else you'll be some blood and gore
never would they hurt the sleeping
snoozed away, dreams of creeping.
Do not look towards the inner noise
Lay your head like good girls and boys
Once they see you wide awake
Your life will be for them to take
Pretend that you are just asleep
in happy dreams in which you keep
don't let them see your open eyes
They're only monsters in disquise.
clench your eyes, softly breathing
hide from creatures, that are teething
Please try hard to hide your head
or else, you surely will be dead.
