this is really starting to get super interesting. I love how manda let her choose on her first thing but to be fair since it was partly her fault for not stepping in and saying, "No Lure don't let her do it for the first time with Grimlock give her a more simple one to try." (Since she did not know anything about the transformers it would have made more sense to start off with a simpler one.) maybe she should have offered a third option that would have been suitable. the two Star mentioned would have been okay but maybe the third option was she helps start set up a paypal account and then help her find a replacement toy and buy it as a sorry.

I mean it does kind of make sense if she were to have to replace it. most of my friends who had siblings and even I had to replace toys we broke with our allowance. (though half the time we got our bottoms swatted anyway depending if it was an accident or on purpose like me with the scissors and my sisters barbies XP)

Had a VERY old fashioned baby sitter when my sisters and I were little; had a ritual of making us fetch the switch when we had really misbehaved, though usually a few swats with her hand sufficed. While it would still be embarrassing I think I would've gone with a spanking, because while I used to like my pacifier (didn't give it up until late age 3), having someone catch me now with a "binkie" would probably make me crawl in a hole. Then again, while I do have something of a little side I'm not so much into paci's, bottles and the like. Certainly wouldn't have the courage to go on a playdate with people I just met.

I don't really like how Manda said it was fine and then still punishes her afterwards. I'm not saying she should have been immediately pulled across the knee but maybe a "It's okay, we'll discuss your punishment later" would have worked better.
