I've seen some BN and one UP before in Ayer MA, one on an intermodal train, so it's not impossible for a loco to be on the opposite side of the country. a couple years ago i saw some pumpkin (exBNSF, the orange ones) locos on a providence&worcester coal train. sure i haven't seen any SINCE then, and it's not related to the loco shortage, but just a little fun fact
