Nocturnal 2006
Bothan knows too well the stars Fox is pointing, since she passed so much time crossing the whole galaxy when she was leading the war with Daji and the Armada.
But she feigned not to know anything, and to enjoy that moment in his arms. She was quite sure he wasn't fooled at all about her lie but he continues to enumerate all the stars of the constellations...
Bothan didn't want to watch the sky with him, she was convainced she will be overwhelmed with gloomy thoughts about her dark past and her sins she did in space if she looks at the stars. So she stayed in his arms, with her actual thought that she was in peace here on earth, and even in love.
If she was so peaceful, that's thanks to him. She slowly began to fall asleep.
One day, she will be able to watch the sky with him...
One of the very first colored pic I ever did. That one was done mainly with watercolor pencils.
Even if the anatomy is... crappy, I like the scene and I may do the scene when they will see the stars together.
I've heard that when a man wants to dream, that's naturally he watchs the sky.
I'm sure that Bothan's dreams isn't in the stars, but in his arms.

Yes, it's different depending the point of view. I wanted to illustrate a bit why Bothan doesn't look at the stars with her beloved. That's not obvious, so I commented it. And that's a parallel with the Heirs of my sins

No. Bothan, like any Furry, comes from the Earth, but due to the war they were forced to make an exodus since the Earth was under heavy radiations. Earth was a forbidden land for thousand years.
That's why Bothan knows the galaxy, she crossed it in order to find a planet where the Armada could live on.

She's even older than that, but she spent most of that time in an artificial sleep.
I estimate that she lived 200 years during the final war on Eartn, then around 2.000years in space with the Armada, and then she was in that artificial sleep for something like 40.000 years.
So yes, she had fled Earth but finally returned there in order to recreate the humanbeing and then went into that sleep for so long, until something awakes her.

Eeeeeeeck. it was something not to tell about, seriously.
I'm excessively protective with everything related to my characters, so please avoid such a thought...
But - and for the spoiler - she will have heirs. Like said in the last submission. And they will have dark fate.

Nah, it's just that I currently have excessively bad mood, but she will have a true and joyful life with her beloved. I just have to illustrate that as well. I just fear that may be boring, as I simply don't like the blablabla-I'm-in-love's behaviour which hurts the ones who are forced to be single.
...
I'm just bitter...

You and I both mate. Without getting to personal, I got back stabbed twice, so the whole concept of love is a little skewed to me now. But... I could see loving Bothan as a true joy. Despite her past, and her history, she seems like she'd be more than willing to lay it all by the wayside to settle down and just love someone.
And it's that kind of love that I wish I could find amongst humans anymore. Seems like loyalties and such of that caliber really only exist within animals. I know my nextdoor neighbor's dog was nicer and friendlier to me than either of my girlfriends. Which in retrospect... really sucks. :'<
I guess I see in Bothan what I've always, always wanted to see in a human. She's totally, genetically different from a human, and yet she fell in love with one. Despite their differences, she adored him, endeared herself to him, and loved him with all her heart. And her heartbreak wasn't the result of a betrayal. It was death. The one force in the universe that can't be avoided forever.
I like Bothan so much because she just embodies all of the things I wish I could have for myself. Which is why its just agonizing to see her in such crippling emotional pain. It's hard to explain without sounding a wee bit crazy. ^_^;

Hell yes, she would do everything to be allowed to continue her love...
And you have understood the dilemma and the point of the story. Despite their differences, they love each other without conditions. And such a love is so fcking rare...
It makes me more than jealous..
Thanks for your kind comment..

I don't see any big problems with the anatomy, sure, maybe it's not 100% spot on, but the feeling and the mood is caught perfectly in this piece. She has suck wonderful "at piece" look to her. Full of love and brimming with a simple joy. It's a wondeful seen you've portrayed.
