Its actually beneficial to go from drawing realism to drawing cartoon-like. It gives you a better foundation than if you did it the other way around.
You can do different styles, just be patient don't be so hard on yourself

Its hard to accept compliments sometimes because i'll be all like "You like my drawing?? BUT DON'T YOU SEE? I CANT DRAW FEET, I CANT DRAW TREES OR CLOTHES ETC ETC.. YOU LIE!"

Exactly!! XD I see other people's drawings on here and they seem so simple! Yet when I try to do something of my own. My brain's all like.
"HAHA NOPE. YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE GONNA DO SOMETHING AWESOME? THINK AGAIN!"

I get so frustrated I give up till later were I'm sure I'm gonna try again.

Thank you so much! And you should try it out if you want~ I just basically cut the half of a woman's face from a magazine. Put it on paper and wala! Art! Trying to draw the other half is difficult but worth it in the end

Do you find you style not very cute?
Do you think, although you are better than pretty much all the 10 year old folks, they are still better at doing stuff that is adorable?
Do you feel everybody has such an easy time to stick to a style, but can't quite forge your own?

Do you find anime eyes particularly FRIGGING IMPOSSIBLE to draw without reference?

If you answered yes for at least 2 of these questions, I feel you.
But keep going, I'm slowly starting to develop some satisfactory stylistic results. Except for eyes. I should make everyone wearing sunglasses forever.

For a moment there I pictured wearing sunglasses "on the inside", like soul-deep level. xD
But then I got it, indoors sunglasses. Drawing will get easier for me and harder on the caracters' little toes, bumping at every furniture in the house. DEAL!
