This happened today. There's a saying about sleeping dragons. Something about not waking them up... When the bigger dragon here got up the little one just kind of slid right off. He was trusting and deeply sleeping enough not to even try to grip onto my arm.

He is in the middle of shedding right now so excuse the little bit of peeling and laminated portions of his body.

He has accidentally bitten me twice. First time I felt his teeth but it didn't draw blood. Second time he raked me 2mm with his teeth on my right ring finger and it bled a little. Both times he was apologetic. You can tell because his body language will change. Instead of being overly eager to get at crickets and worms he'll put his head down, ignore them, and look up at me as if to say sorry. He has a lot of bite force, but Taz bites only as a last resort. He does this funny thing of clinging to me, showing his teeth, and closing his eyes when something scares him and he wants me to deal with it.
Also, he leads with his tongue. He'll stick it out about 3/4 inch and expect things to stick to it before bringing something into his mouth. The reason this is important is because he has chased women with blue, red, or purple toenail coloring. =P He will also mistake blisters on the foot too if you're wearing sandals. I think he thinks they're grapes or blueberries (his favorite). Doesn't really take much to let him know it's not food. He gets the idea when you deliberately interrupt him from trying to get at that sort of stuff!

I recommend Agamid lizards. However, based on the age on your profile I think I'd wait a while before getting one. I got Taz when I was 23 because I had the financial resources to actually care for him. He's been to the vet. He has an $70 light mercury vapor UVA, UVB, and heat lamp over his cage (it needs to be replaced every 2 years). He's got a custom-built cage. He's been to the vet. He's got the right food to keep him healthy. He has no diseases thanks to quick intervention a couple times. He's had socialization training and goes on trips with me. It has taken a lot of research and time working with him to get him to where he is today. In the wild he would have died a couple years ago. He's an old fart now for a beardie. Most in captivity also don't get this far.
Do you research. Figure out which lizard you like best. Talk with some breeders on a site like RepticZone or somewhere else. Wait until you're financially stable and then go for it! If you do things wrong your lizard will act like a lump on a log. You don't want that. You want something like Taz. Taz will roam around my house and explore, put himself away in his cage at the end of the day, greet people in the morning, seek out the source of strange sounds, interact with multiple people and other pets, and just generally be a lively companion who sometimes needs help getting down when he's climbed 5 feet up a window curtain and decided it was a bad idea.
I rushed into things with a water dragon many years ago. Don't make the mistake of being too hasty.
