Carousel Horse Headdress
Here is one of the finished carousel horse heads! It is one of six I made custom for a large theatrical production.
I'm super happy they ended up going with this color, I did some paint tests of others but I admit I'm most partial to this one myself. :)

Honestly, this is sensational. I'm so jelly of this kind of opportunity. Working for the stage is like, the creme de la creme of artistic expression [in my op].
What is it made of? Are they casted with something? How durable are they?
I want all the info ALL the info.

I grew up with a fantastic love and admiration for the theatre, so making art for the stage is still pretty mind boggling to me. :) I love it!
I sculpted these out of clay, made molds, and cast them in a urethane resin - so they are quite durable and lightweight. The resin I use has some flex to it which makes it much less brittle and more forgiving. They are still art and not like a football helmet or anything, but not delicate either :)
