well I mean the stuff before No.7 (which I really don't care for)
the artwork for the old FF games was spectacular and very full of character (No.6 being a personal favourite of mine). Now all the characters look pretty samey. Most of the main central heroes seem to have light coloured hair now

I do realize that it tends to be time consuming to try and differentiate different characters, but sometimes I find certain artists are less apt at disguising the similarities that others. In this artist's case, I think this method can be attributed to the washed out, paint-like stylings which renders many aspects of a character's depiction in great detail while others more simplified.
