mr. snuffleupagus


while at work and bored to no end, i did what i usually do...daydream about my fictional characters. about dirtyramen; my female anti hero and thinking of all the people i want her to meet in her messed up world. one of which is a clan of aggressive demons (to which i have yet to create a name for) that resemble elephant-men, with the exception of protruding horn, they also have long muscled torsos making up their extreme height; with thick tree trunk legs and flat feet.they have two mouths, one located below the trunk like snout and the other located at the end. though they have vocal cords, they can not speak human language at all well;as their voice box is made for loud shouts and bursts of angry sounds. like a mixture of whales and a very large baritone of a dinosaur, there fore only a rare few a tempt human speech. but even then they can only make out words that they can mimic, and it comes out in shouts and sometimes due to the amount of work it takes them to get it out they may seem angry or volatile, which causes a miss communication with other species. this is where dirtyramen meets snuffy, on one mission with her crew (forced to go of course) they head into these demons territory. while the others struggle to understand snuffy and his brothern dirtyramen listens into snuffy's thoughts, and gets pissed when she hears him berating her tiny stature. this leads to her yelling at him and him arguing back, it was a minute before he realizes that every one is staring at them both and that he is actually talking to another out side his race in his own language. dirtyramen soon notices her mistake over the veil fury she was feeling, but years of constant close calls and near misses had made her a expert lier. with out missing a beat she informed all watching that she could understand them cause she was a mind reader..(which wasn't a lie...the lie part is) her mother is part telepathic goblin"....sooo..there you go." while the others dropped it at that, it was snuffy who kept his attention focused only on her. this leads to a number of situations in which snuffy ends up leaving his brothern and territory to come live with dirtyramen and her crew as her new link,how ever this was harder on him than he thought it would be. his size and aura make the human and light fey fear him, feeling insecure he refused to go out in public until ramen got him a variety of punk rave gas-masks to hide his long trunk. she loves dressing him in neon colors like her own. that is when he asks about the name she has been calling him. why snuffy? "i can't go around making weird sounds to say your name...and i know you guys hate when any one refer to you as any thing elephant....so when i look at you it reminds me of this really old children show they use to broadcast in the olden world. there was a character named mr. snuffleupagus, snuffy for short, and he resembled an elephant but he wasn't" snuffy watched her while she spoke, seeing her eyes soften at the memory. all right then....im your mr. snuffleupagus
