I can not handle commissions from now on.
Believe it or not. even though I've stated this, and that I do not want quote requests. I still get them often.
I cannot handle them whatsoever. and they take up time that I do not need to have taken up.
I would be closing down my note system entirely if not for current commissioners that I/ and they rely on to keep in contact.
Please. Please do not send me notes unless you are a commissioner, or we already have a thing going!/ trades. See below for what you can also note me about!
I CAN answer questions LIKE:
~What materials I use
~some help in making costumes
~questions about a current resin blank or mask up for sale.
~commission/ purchases
~if you've already been talking to me about something and are following up.
I may not always answer messages asking for help or suggestions on making costumes though! I will try if I can!
I WILL IGNORE QUESTIONS LIKE:
~how much for (this) custom item?
~when will you be open again? (answer: never until further notice)
~can you refer me to another maker that does similar then? (please search for yourself)
Like my front page states I will not be open again. however I will not be stopping posting things. I will be making premade heads and pre-cast blanks that will be put up for sale in photo form when I have them. Availability fluctuates.
I'm sorry to be so stern about this and please don't apologize if you've sent me notes about this already. But this is why I have not responded to you!

I totally understand. People who don't respect that can shove it :D
Just out of curiosity, will you be putting premades (anything, bases, finished pieces, etc) for sale occasionally? Or do you only plan to work on personal projects? Again, just me being curious c: Either one is fine!

Darn I was really hoping to commission that artistic liberty dragon dog from you some day. But it's all good I completely get it! Working on commission can be so hard and stressful so I know where you're coming from on this one.
I'll just continue sitting here enjoying the beauty and maybe just maybe be able to snag a premade someday~

Quick question:
Would you say that using a fitted jump suit, diving suit, or coveralls for a fur suit base be a good idea?
Gluing and or sewing the foam (for digitgrade legs/muscles/intimate parts) fur onto one of the three?
Wanting it to be form fitting without suffocating me. X3

I wouldn't be one to answer that question actually :b I've never made a bodysuit in my life! ...yet ^_^
I think it would be a good idea though! pre-made lining! If I was just tinkering, I would definitely do that if I was making a bodysuit. could possibly get a bit difficult for skin breathability but with the right materials that people regularly line things with. I don't see why not! but again I've never done it :)

Yeah, I figure I could cut slits in the suit with mesh sewn over the slits, so air can get in (Just comb the fur over it so it's not seen. ^..^)
With masks, I went to AC this year and bought a fox blank kit (I'm an arctic fox. ^..^)
I was wondering how you should go about gluing the bottom and top jaw casts inside the mask? There seems to be a lot of space between them and the actual casts (And it looks like I'll have to shave the sides of the bottom jaw cast for it to fit) Do I just line it with the cheap foam you can buy in any craft store?
A little confused as what I should do about the nose. It came with a silicone one, but the blank already has a nose. Do I hollow out the silicone one or cut off the one molded onto the blank?
When gluing the fur onto the blank, is there a certain way I should reinforce the part that covers the back of my head?
And lastly (sorry for all the questions. ^^'''') What is the best way to go about making the ears?

Who did you buy a blank from? I'm going to guess DVC?
if you want to use the silicone nose you'll have to cut off the regular resin nose and slip the silicone one through the inside :) for silicone noses I glue them to some felt and glue the felt to the inside of the blank area. or you can just glue it onto the outside of the blank too! it looks cleaner though from the inside.
Get yourself some apoxie sculpt! you can buy it on ebay and the brand is Apoxie Sculpt. you can get a small amount just for one project! you make lips and eyelids with it. and it's best for permanently attaching jawsets etc :) Are you able to glue the jawset all the way into the top of the top jaw? (also actually I don't like to use top jaw pieces at all Xb they just weight the mask down and are often unseen)
Hot glue the bottom jaw piece in and then use the apoxie sculpt to make lips around the edge of the bottom jaw and sculpt the apoxie clay into the jawset to kind of hold onto the jaw piece!
I'm unsure what you mean about reinforcing a part that covers the back of your head? When I make my patterns I make them all in one swing. but I often make half pattern and double it for the other side. then sew it together to make the full hood/face. The ears I draw on and make a specially cut hole for the finished ears to be sewn into!
For my ears I use a material called fosshape which is a stiffening felt that you can heat and shape. but you could use foam-es for a thin realistic one time look! I wouldn't suggest attaching ear forms straight to your blank because most blanks aren't made where they go back far enough to make the ear placement work to be attached to them. Sewing your finished ears into your hood is the best way to go!
If you don't have a mannequin, I suggest having someone help you make a duct tape copy of your head and shoulder area! with a hood that you can tape to of course. Then stuff it tight and make your hood pattern and such on that!

What do I cut the nose if with? Box cutter? Exacto knife?
Is apoxie sculpt like bake-able clay? Or rubbery? Will it air dry or do I need to bake or coat it with something?
Should I use it around the outside of the nose for extra hold?
And no, the top jaw won't slide in no matter how hard I push, so I figure I'll have to take a knife or sand paper to widdle it down until it slides in.
Do I need to fill in the space bellow the bottom jaw and above the top jaw and the mask with something?
As far as that goes, should I line the entire mask with craft foam for better comfort, as well as to make it easier for the jaw to move when I talk?
What I mean when I say "reinforce" I mean "To help retain its shape/make it durable". :3
How do I go about making a pattern? Sketch on the blank, trace with tracing paper, cut out the shapes once re-traced onto the back of the fur, sew them together along with the hood, and then glue onto the mask?
What is best for shaving the fur along the muzzle? Beard trimmer? Dog shears?

here's one for cutting blanks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNCnc_zTwPk
Also a patterning tutorial though she does hers a bit differently than I do mine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-XVtwGRqhg
I severely severely suggest you watch all of monoyasha's tutorials! she has many videos walking you through how to use your resin blank from them! :)

if you can access your uncle's mannequin that'll make it a lot easier for you! :)
Definitely take those pattern pieces. trace them onto the back of fabric. Cut the fabric carefully with an exacto blade. razor knife.
sew together. glue onto the mask yep!
Pet hair trimmers yep! It helps to start shaving before even gluing at all. and finalize the shaving once you've glued :)
Thank you SOOOOO much.
Two last questions and then I'll try my best to quit pestering you, haha.
My sona has human hair on his head, would you suggest gluing one of those cheep white or silver Halloween wigs to the hood?
Or do some sites that sell faux fur also sell something similar to horse hair?
And, in loo of an air brush, what else works for high lights and low lights?

A wig is fine :) but instead of gluing it I would suggest sewing it onto the head even if it's just with thread darts! Just incase you don't like it or you want to remove it later for any reason.
mordrudesmonsters has a wig tutorial :)
I used to just use stiff bristled brushes. Watered down acrylic and rags for painting fur! :) totally works great if you don't have an hairbrush!
