DOD budget.
Also that deficit is owed to the American people, not foreign powers. Mostly to Social Security. %90 of it is owed to our own departments. China owns about %2 of our debt.
We also have $200 trillion in national assets and own $32 trillion in other countries debts that we can default on.

Umm your documentary is a smidge outdated, 2008.
Debt to your own citizens is still debt. Yes, a lot of it is social security, because frankly people don't die enough.
China actually owns 8% of our debt, our total debt to foreign nations is a grande 34%.
When you are in debt, and your assets do not cover said debt, you have no money. It's like maxing out your credit cards on slushies that you drank all of. U.S cannot disassemble all of it's buildings, materialize our roads and give back the time/supplies, come up with social security, or countless other debt sources. Therefore, we have nothing. U.S. does nothing but stack debt, working in the red, as interest rates work against us and we do little(a small and futile effort in the form of planes, electronics, and soldiers) to increase revenue.
Also, since DOD is part of the overall U.S government, which is in debt, therefore is ALSO in debt. All of U.S's money is ghost money.
