It's amazing how many furries have never heard of them. My son said he was at a panel with Uncle Kage and Steve Gallacci, and when they asked who had read the Man-Kzin Wars books, he was the only one in the room.
Basically, the Kzin are aliens who look like seven-foot tall tigers, with batwing ears and rat's tails, who are insanely aggressive and militaristic. They make Klingons look like little girls. Man-Kzin Wars are a series of novels and collected short stories which have been published from the 80s to the present (up to volume 14) by Larry Niven. They're set in his 'Known Space' universe (the same setting as 'Ringworld', which features a Kzin character).
