Playing about with watercolors, yeas, I know I suck. I need practice and some books on how to do it correctly. I have always loved Nihon Kami/Obake and Japanese formal attire, hence, I give you this.

You are doing very well.
I encourage you to also try your hand at digital art with Photoshop. Real media, especially watercolors, scares the heck out of me because they are so unforgiving. Photoshop encourages experimentation because it has many many ways for getting rid of things that don't work while keeping what does.
I also think that you would enjoy photomanipulation. You could create a ariel view picture of yourself riding a falling bomb or shooting a GAU-8 from your hip, or put yourself into a WWI picture behind a M1919A4, or do all sorts of other fun things. For example, you could composite a photo of a shell over a war scene showing the gun that fires it.
Consider the esthetic difference between a simple photo of this knife and this composite scene:

You can also enhance contrast to bring out faded insignia on old ordinance.
The WACOM Bamboo Fun is all that you would need, and includes both hardware (a good tablet and stylus) and Photoshop Elements software:

With a bit of shopping around, you can probably get it for even less.

I'll have to look into phototshop after I am gainfully employed (soon!) and have the time to learn something new. I saw some of the Wacom tablets and such in Japan when last I was there, will have to look into them again.
I'll have to post a pic of me with my 1919A4 when next we shoot....Karno and I belted up over 600 rounds on a continous belt, should be fun....

I used to do all my inking with brushes, so they were comfortable to me. I use penbrushes I found in the Tokyu Hands department store in Tokyo, and I love em because one can control line width with pressure the way one can with a brush. I have always sucked at color, though.
Real media, if you can master it, is often worth the effort (although financial rewards are usually very rare -- wht else is new?).
The challange is in gaining mastery -- it never comes with an undo button or cheat codes.
This scanned a little dark, but it is clear you already have good control. You can only continue to improve, right?

You might as well be speaking in French, here. I know there are some wonderful graphics tools on computer now, the trouble is taking the time to learn them. I am barely able to stand my computer for internet, as I have dial up and no patience, let alone a box that used to crash regularly. I only just started to force myself to draw again after years away, so I'll have to contact you when I am ready to pick up some programs. Thanks for the info and encouragement.
