"Countless moons have passed, the frost still rest cold, but within the pack i am loved, the truth i am told, come with me my brothers, hear me my sisters, sing to the night, sing to the sky, May no one miss our call, Let the gods hear our Cry!" <Howls greatly to the winds with both passion and soul)
I wanted to see if i really had made any progress in my skills with pastels, so i felt it best to redo one of my first sketches, "Froslights Call" which was one of my very first Pastel experiments. Now she left me with a love for the pastel color blending potential but a scorn on the actual detail work, i needed to reprimand this, i had to know if i was doing any good in this chosen medium. While i do bare a strong Love/hate relationship with a lot of my works, i must always remember where i started and never forget the joys i had with past concepts.
This particular piece, leaves me very satisfied, shes just how i wanted her, well originally i was going to make her coat purple and red, but the base color bore so much to catch my eye I had no choice but to leave her be. the only real gripe i have is while i studied up on my Photo-shop tools and tried to remove that horrific tell-tail scanner line that almost butchers my work with distraction (i really need to buy a bigger scanner if i am to do any more large prints) it can be noted i still need a bit of practice.
none the less tell me what you think "Froslights Call" should be in the last page of my gallery to use for comparison.

I love how you're improving so wonderfully on anatomy. =) The fur is nicely done, it blends and gives it a nice realistic look. I do have to admit, though, the eye is a bit longer than it should be. Otherwise it'd be like if he opened up his eye it'd be like.... freakishly huge, y'know? The references you use should be helping out with that, too.
You always manage to pick colors I like and blend them into a beautiful scene. =P I like soft blues and greys, I like purples and blues. Keep it up, it's my favorite shit, there!
