Stray mama had 6 babies in the wee hours of the morning, I got zero work done yesterday as I constantly checked on her only to have her not start to actually push till after midnight, I was up till 6am with her.
the tortie and black-n-white are girls, the rest boys, and the solid orange tabby has a short crooked tail.
All of these guys will need homes in 12 or so weeks, including mama kitty (I live in Sacramento California btw) I have not tracked down any rescues to work through yet but if they are full I am hoping to be able to adopt them out on my own. If I have to resort to adopting them out on my own they will be spayed/neutered first though an affordable source with the adoption fee merely covering the cost of the operation.
Mama kitty is a wonderfully sweet and well adjusted cat, she adapts almost instantly to new environments and beautifully tolerated major man-handling at the vet, she is a grandly adoptable adult and I hope to find her a good home (I have too many cats already, some of which would just never do well being rehomed and thus need to stay here)
PS do excuse the wound at the base of her tail, she was found with said injury and did see a vet where they shaved and cleaned the area and gave her an antibiotic shot, it is still healing.

Oh my! They are too beautiful! Especially that mama!! I would live to give her a home but I just couldn't with dogs plus im far from you. All the way in NH.
Good luck finding such gorgeous babies great locum homes like they deserve.
I am wondering if the baby with the crooked tail is the result of a fight 're mother had and during development it grew the tail in an odd way.

OHGODMYFEEEEEEEEEELSRIGHTNOW! You cannot even believe how this made me cry...
I had a young female cat named Cali that looked almost exactly like this. My dogs had pegged her down as a kitten and we took her in, she had a bite wound on her tail just as the base of her butt... we couldn't get her fixed before she had a heat we didn't know about and she had a group of kittens. And well three of those kittens were yellow and one was a tabby/tiger looking kid 8| Oh my god this girl just tugs at my feels. She's like a Cali 2.0 :C Because Cali passed away a couple years ago and it hurt a lot since she was expecting kittens when she did. Cali was weird because she had heats without us knowing, she wasn't like other female cats that you could TELL were in heat 8| it was just BOOM there and then oh hey I'm having kittens...
So cute... adorable mommy and cute babies~

all 10 of my cats are rescues, 5 of them bottled raised orphans, 2 tamed ferals, 2 kept foster kittens, one I actually adopted on purpose.
I have fostered many pregger moms, mom with babies, and orphans. All my cats are altered and I have never bred a cat, rather I take care of other people's lack of responsibility and care for unwanted kittens.

I don't know if anyone has recommended an adoption agency yet, but I found my little girl through one called "Town Cats." I don't know if they operate that far up north (I live in San Jose, Calif) but they do good work, and match cats up to homes and people fairly well. I'd take a look at them at least. :D
In Denver we have a mobile spay/neuter clinic that will visit apartment complexes etc. They offer spay and neuter for really cheap; but it seems that's run by a local only organization.
However, here's a list of clinics in the Sacramento area that have reasonable prices http://www.happytails.org/wp-content/uploads/Sacramento-Area-Spay-Programs.pdf
And, here is a cat sanctuary that picks up friendly strays, fosters, and adopts them out. http://www.happytails.org/feral-cats/
