Once upon a time, there was a horse who met a rat. This rat was rather handsome and shy, and back then he wasn't too sure he'd ever find anyone to call his own. But the horse knew better; even if it wouldn't be right away, he knew this rat wasn't destined to be lonely. (( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3709030/ ))

Slowly but surely, things started to improve for the horse's friend, and over the years they kept in touch, the shire was always delighted to hear about the rat's latest adventures and successes. (( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6877364/ ))

And then, one day it happened. Suddenly there was not one rat, but two! The horse couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness to go with the elation that came with the news; the rat had found love! Or perhaps love had found him..... but either way, so it was!
