So here's something a little different from me in HO scale! This is a simple little kitbash I'm working on for my HO scale Empire, River & Western Railroad.
This started off as a B&O RR "C-16" switch locomotive ("C-16"? Really? XD ) that originally was just going to be a simple headlight change. The model itself is from a long defunct company called Pemco. This is a WONDERFULLY smooth running engine, though I'm not sure how will it would perform. I haven't been able to test it with a train in tow yet.
Anyway, I have an S scale arc style oil burning headlamp that came with the S scale shay kit I bought for my On20 shay conversion. The size though would not look out of place in HO scale. Then out of a whim I used the box headlamp from a Bachmann old time 4-4-0 instead. Upon seeing it on the engine... I was sold. And I decided to go further and replace the original stack with a capped stack from an MDC old timer kit. I also have a Bowser detail kit for this specific locomotive and so added a new "working" bell, air pump, and eventually the engine will have brass air hoses and lines, as well as a brass whistle.
Eventually I hope to install DCC and sound. The engine will probably be used for switching duty and perhaps local service. Hope you guys like it! Please leave comments!

Yep, it's a saddle tank. Though I'm not sure who the builder was, I think Baldwin for this particular engine. But certainly NOT Porter in this case.
I still need to do a few things for this one. Add a whistle and a few other details. But mostly a decent paint and lettering job. It's supposed, or will be, an Empire River & Western loco, not B&O.

If you work on it in enough time, you could have your own "Chiggin": http://www.scpc2.com/uploads/6/5/1/.....565932.jpg?898
